Our sauces are only half the story — the rest is about the company they keep. From the chillies we grow to the sauces we craft, everything we do is driven by obsession, friendship, and a little bit of irreverence.
The Thousand Apologies story.
Thousand Apologies is a pocket-sized rebellion against bland food and boring sauce bottles. Born in Melbourne to fight off winter blues and fuel a love for flavour, our hot sauces are crafted with premium Aussie chillies and native ingredients. We started with a simple mission: make really good sauces for capsaicin addicts like us. Then we turned up the heat—literally—with a near-unconsumable blend that proved just how many spice-loving sadists are out there.
No devils, no flames, no gimmicky death threats—just bold flavour, sustainable packaging, and a healthy respect for those daring (or foolish) enough to try the hottest one. Every award winning bottle is made in small batches using ingredients sourced locally from good people who care about quality and the planet.
From mild flings to full-blown meltdowns, Thousand Apologies delivers heat with humour and a little too much honesty.
Why Thousand Apologies
Good for the planet
Embracing the principle of cicularity, our production process focuses on minimising waste, with any leftovers being composted. Our eco-conscious approach extends to our glass bottles, which are not only curbside recyclable but part of our reuse program-returned used bottles will be sterilised and refilled. Our labels are printed with compostable inks and a no-nonsense, non-toxic adhesive. The packaging, is decked out in recycled, FSC-certified materials with a touch of organic water and pigment-based inks making it fully compostable or recyclable in home bins.
Good ingredients
Our sauces are truly honest: gluten-free, all-natural, and crafted with 100% Australian ingredients. No preservatives, additives, thickeners, binders, gums, colouring, or stabilisers—just pure flavour.
Good for everyone
Each year, we commit to donating 1% of our profits to a chosen charity. Despite being relatively new (and recognising that our profits might not yet be substantial), this year, we're wholeheartedly supporting a cause that deeply resonates with us. For our first year in business (and we haven't seen the whole year yet) we donated and slept at the 2024 Sleep at the 'G event hosted by Melbourne City Mission.
